The APMW Foundation

Committed to education, The APMW Foundation was founded in 1992 with the financial support of VMP Mortgage Forms. The Foundation was created as a separate corporate entity so the NAPMW and its members are equal beneficiaries with the industry at large. By providing financial assistance for industry-related educational programs, it is the goal of The APMW Foundation to create a better educated work force in mortgage lending and its related fields.

In the fifteen years since its inception, the Foundation has awarded over 161 scholarships totaling more than $66,000. Funds awarded have been applied to loan closing and appraisal courses, university undergraduate degrees, the Institute of Mortgage Lending designation courses, and other continuing education programs.

So that The APMW Foundation may continue to provide financial assistance to those individuals interested in furthering their careers in the industry through continuing education, donations may be mailed to: P.O. Box 2016, Edmonds, WA 98020-9516

The APMW Foundation is a tremendous help to members, non-members, and Associations that need financial assistance. I would really like to thank everyone for the scholarship to the National Education Conference in Florida. This was my first conference and I was amazed! By attending and being an active member in NAPMW, I am able to see new and exciting things happening with my contract mortgage processing business. Everyone at the conference helped to instill confidence in me and my business. Without NAPMW I would not be where I am today. I am so thankful for the opportunity that the APMW Foundation has given me with the scholarship to obtain my “Certified Mortgage Instructor” (CMI) designation. Although I have been in the industry since 1992, I just recently realized the need for education in our industry. I worked at a wholesale lenders office which put me in contact with other loan officers across the states and was astounded at the lack of knowledge. I look forward to sharing my information about our industry to others to help them make ethical decisions.

My name is Karen and I have been a Florida resident for over 25 years. I am presently employed at SunTrust Bank, East Central Florida as a Residential Mortgage Underwriter. I have been with SunTrust for over 15 years.

One of my unfulfilled personal goals in life was receiving my college degree. Because of the financial assistance I received from The APMW Foundation, I completed my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Management. It enriched both my professional and personal life. Once I obtained my BA, I decided that I wanted to go on and get my Masters Degree in Business Administration. And, because of the financial assistance from The APMW Foundation, I graduated and have received my MBA as well.

The educational opportunities which The APMW Foundation has enabled me to achieve will be an asset and will open many doors for me professionally in the mortgage industry.
